We've had a couple of hurdles to overcome, that actually turned out to be for the better I think. Right now we're waiting for a chunk of time, with good weather, so we can get a crucial part of the team together to finish what we need to be able to release this all publicly, and open the gates to exciting times!
Social media is being put in place, the website is nearly finished, and I'm adding multitudes of followers, on my personal Facebook page, that are in the demographic we're aiming for, bikers of all sorts, of all ages, men, women, sport bikes, Harleys, etc. We're gearing up for a huge social media blitz.
My job is to engage my followers, and get them excited about the announcement, I've also made a few friends along the way. Once we are prepared to release our baby, we'll either try to get everyone from my personal page over to a fan page, and spell out all that we've been working on, or I'll start a separate, private, page for friends and family. Not sure how all that will play out, have to leave that part of it to the IT guys.
For the most part I've attempted to keep a great deal of my personal life out of the spotlight. I'm in the process of locking down all pictures of my kids and grand kids, I still let out a few vague personal things, and I continue to interact greatly with my friends and family. Because of legalities, I have to be circumspect while posting on social media at the present time, although, there is something personal I'm really excited about on my page that we just added last night! I had been debating about releasing it for a while, there were pros and cons, my excitement being a HUGE pro, and respect and privacy being a con. But what the hell, it's out there boo-yeah!!
I realize my page looks like something it's not, and I do have guidelines for adding "friends." No egg pics, no one without mutual friends, no one with less than a certain amount of mutual friends, and no one that is disrespectful of me, or of my life, or of my choices. If guys come on to me, I'll ask them to stop, and if they don't, I'll block them, simple as that.
We're so hoping we'll be able to gonna rock this. We're rolling the dice with what we're doing. The project can go several ways. It can be a huge success, a so/so success, or fall flat on it's face.
Even if we don't make it, the way we hope to, none of us will be able to look back and regret not going for it when we had the chance. I hope you all follow us on this awesome, adventurous, new path, that will hopefully lead our team to see our dreams come true.
